Michael Amarosa, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs for TruePosition, will join leading European politicians, industry associations, and service providers in further establishing 112 emergency number across Europe
Berwyn, PA, May 28, 2008 — TruePosition, a leading provider of wireless location technologies and solutions and a subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation, announced today that Michael Amarosa, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, will join the European Emergency Number Association’s (EENA) new advisory board as Vice Chairman of the Communications Committee, supporting its role as the leading “Voice of 112” across the European Union.
The European Commission introduced the emergency number, 112, to unite all EU member states under the same number, ensuring fast and immediate access to emergency services at home and abroad throughout the EU. However, according to the latest Eurobarometer survey, the emergency number 112 is still widely unknown. The Advisory Board’s objectives include increasing awareness and use of 112 as well as promoting best practices among operators and responders.
“It is an honour to join the EENA Advisory Board,” said Mike Amarosa. “By working together, we will be able to further establish 112 throughout the European Union, ensuring wide acceptance and recognition of 112 and better response to 112 calls. Only then can we look to further enhancements, such as incorporating wireless location technology, to bring 112 to its optimum performance.”
