TruePosition Personal Emergency Location Service
The TruePosition Emergency Location Service integrates high-performance location technology with a medical alert system, working together to:
All that’s required is for the individual to wear a small wireless device around their wrist. Once activated through a secure operations facility, the device can be instantly located by a guardian or caregiver if the wearer wanders off. The device will also call 9-1-1 and deliver a pre-recorded message, allowing the nearest Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) to locate the missing person and send appropriate emergency responders. At the heart of the Personal Emergency Location Service is the TruePosition® Location Platform™, which incorporates a network-based location technology called Uplink Time Difference of Arrival (U-TDOA). U-TDOA is a high-performance location technology that uses specialized cell tower receivers that allow the system to:
Enable responders to respond more quickly and effectively. Senior citizens, or those with chronic illness also use other types of alert systems, called personal medical alert devices. However, these alert systems are typically mapped to a physical address, and cannot indicate if the wearer is or is not currently at that address. Every second counts. When a person with Alzheimer’s or other form of dementia wanders, they are at the mercy of the environment. Within a few minutes, they can become injured or cause themselves irreparable harm. Even if they suddenly realize that they are lost, and try to find help, they are often unable to explain the situation, and become confused and disoriented. The TruePosition Personal Emergency Location Service's ability to instantly and locate the missing person significantly improves response time, and as a result, can save lives. Effectively manage valuable public safety resources. When an individual with Alzheimer’s or other type of dementia goes missing, multiple vehicles and responders are deployed to find the person and administer care. Typical medical alert devices require the police or emergency medical technicians (EMTs) to systematically drive around using a scanner to locate the device. Because TruePosition’s Personal Emergency Location Service locates the wearer with very high accuracy and reliability, emergency services can be deployed more rapidly and efficiently, saving precious time and resources. |
