Washington, DC, October 23, 2009 - The E9-1-1 Institute announced the results of its 2009/2010 election for 5 seats on the organization’s Board of Directors. The organization, which has more than 1,300 members nation-wide, holds an annual election for representatives from public safety, industry, and non-profit representatives.
The E9-1-1 Institute membership elected the following 5 individuals to the Board of Directors:
Michael Amarosa of New York, NY, Senior Vice President of TruePosition, representing the Membership at Large position;
Arthur Prest of Potomac, MD Managing Director of Art Prest and Associates, representing the Small Telecommunications Carrier position;
Mary Boyd of Longmont, CO, Vice President, Marketing Strategies at Intrado, representing the Vendor/Integrator/Software position;
Tim Lorello of Annapolis, MD, Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, TeleCommunication Systems (TCS), representing the Vendor/Integrator/Software position; and
Jeffrey Vannais of East Hartford, CT, , Communications Supervisor, East Hartford Police Department representing the Non Profit position.
Leadership for the E9-1-1 Institute for 2009/2010 is Chairman Michael Amarosa, Vice Chairman Brian Fontes, Secretary Thera Bradshaw, Executive Director Gregory Rohde and Deputy Executive Director Carla Anderson.
Gregory Rohde, Executive Director of the E9-1-1 Institute stated, “The E9-1-1 Institute Board of Directors are strong advocates for the E9-1-1 Institute and E9-1-1 Caucus. We welcome their expertise and willingness to serve on the Board. Board Chairman Michael Amarosa added, “We look forward to incorporating the new members’ strong leadership skills into our board of directors and look forward to enhancing our education, awareness and outreach opportunities in 2009/2010.”

The E9-1-1 Institute (www.e911institute.org) is a not-for-profit organization, which provides administrative and policy support to the Congressional E9-1-1 Caucus.
