TruePosition Demonstrates Hybrid Wireless Location Solution at 2007 Emergency Communications Technology Fair
Hybrid Location Solution Improves Accuracy and Reliability for E-911 and Location Based Services
Berwyn, PA, July 12, 2007 — TruePosition, Inc., a leading provider of wireless location technologies and solutions and a subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation, today announced the company will demonstrate the TruePosition® Hybrid Location Solution™ for E-911 at the 2007 Emergency Communications Technology Fair on Thursday, July 12, 2007 in the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, DC.
The demonstration will show TruePosition’s hybrid location platform, which combines network-based and handset-based location technologies to leverage the benefits of each to gain higher accuracy and reliability. TruePosition’s hybrid location system can incorporate a combination of multiple location technologies such as Cell ID (CID), Enhanced Cell ID (E-CID), Angle of Arrival (AOA), Uplink Time Difference of Arrival (U-TDOA), and Assisted GPS (A-GPS).
By combining multiple location technologies, TruePosition can offer optimal performance across every type of environment — urban, suburban, rural, in-vehicle and indoors. For instance, A-GPS can be combined with U-TDOA in a fallback arrangement, in which the location system calls on U-TDOA when the performance of the A-GPS has deteriorated due to environmental conditions, like when the 911 call is made indoors or in a city with tall buildings. TruePosition can also combine A-GPS and U-TDOA to operate simultaneously and then be mathematically combined within the location system to obtain better results than either technology working alone.
TruePosition will demonstrate the product in front of several distinguished guests such as Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) and Ted Stevens (R-AK), Congresswoman Anna Eshoo (D-CA) and Congressman John Shimkus (R-IL).
